The Boxing Ring Lamp 081 marks our first collaboration with an external designer. Conceived and drawn by Matthieu Doucet, a Brussels-based architect and founder of the label Imprécis, the piece draws on the graphic tension and structure of boxing rings. Its name echoes the silicone cord delicately wound around its stainless steel frame, suggesting both tension and protection. The lamp is made of two layers: a light inner structure inspired by Japanese paper, and a more abstract, architectural outer structure. In its Polished finish, the stainless steel is polished to a mirror effect. The structure catches and returns the light and the reflections of the space around it, blending into its surroundings as much as it stands out from them. A balance between tension and lightness, rigor and softness, the Boxing Ring Lamp 081 Polished is more than a lighting object: it is a sculptural piece, published by KØGE and made with demanding craftsmanship.
